Satisfying Drawings

Start of a series of illustrations, one a day hopefully! The idea is a improvised doodle with a sort of balance, where the shapes and lines are satisfying to me on a fundamental level. In the same way Jackson Pollock’s paintings didn’t draw the eye to any particular spot, these drawings are aimed to balance each other out and let the eye “rest”. I’m fascinated by what makes certain drawings “satisfying” and what the human eye is actually picking up when we say something is satisfying in that context. Here’s the first!! Fineliner and Letraset Promarkers.
