Queenspark Painting – Hot and Heavy Reduction

Setting up my easel in Queenspark on a hot, muggy day was a very overbearing atmosphere, and I wanted to put that across in the painting. I chose the ground colour for that purpose, and I think having it on an easel helped with this too, allowing the turps to drip and emphasise the stickiness of the air.

I’m wrapping up this project, and I wanted to assemble all the best ideas and techniques I’ve discovered before, and I think it was successful!
