There’s a lot of stuff in my parents house, and their response to the overwhelming amount of stuff they have accumulated is to arrange all of it in (occasionally) systematic and unusual positions. This means all it takes is a camera to find a really interesting composition.
Something happens to an object once you subtract its function or identity. Suddenly it’s just a visual construct. Suddenly it’s just a sculpture, or an image, and you can appreciate it for its simple qualities like colour, line and pattern.
